June is National Camping Month

Now is the perfect time to embark on your overnight adventure. Never let experience, or lack thereof, stop you from spending time in nature. Whether you enjoy “roughing it” in a tent with your crew, or you would rather hang out in a bunkhouse or climate-controlled cabin, we have something that will meet your needs.

Why camping?

Are you looking for ways to stay active and healthy? Camping can be great for your physical health. Being outside in the clean air while spending time under the stars restores long-lost energy. It also helps you reach physical fitness goals since you tend to move around more in the great outdoors with its abundance of natural sunlight.

Camping generally involves socializing with others. It’s as beneficial for mental health as physical health. People tend to sleep more peacefully surrounded by nature. The human problem-solving process is piqued as people discover ways to accomplish tasks in Florida’s wild.

Where do I start?

In camping, preparation is more than half the battle. Your comfort is dramatically affected by what you pack, especially if you plan to tent camp. Starting off with a camping checklist that is geared towards your specific situation is wise. The internet is ripe with checklists and trip planners that help ensure you have what you need before you set foot in the wild. Hint: Bug spray and sunscreen are not optional. They belong on everyone’s list.

Cabin and bunkhouse options at Forever Florida give individuals and groups a climate-controlled, indoor camping experience. Regardless of how you go about camping, remember to respect your fellow campers and the natural surroundings by leaving no trace behind.

What if I prefer to “rough it?”

Our remote camping option is designed for you. Enjoy getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life at the Tracy Branch Outpost. This remote area of land in our adventure park can accommodate up to 10 tents. Though you will be sleeping in your tent, we made sure you still have easy access to restrooms and showers with running water. Groups like to gather in our covered picnic area for meals and activities. The fire pit provides the perfect backdrop for ghost stories under the stars. Flashlights and bug spray are a must in the Florida wild.

Are there packages for horse lovers?

Take a walk on the wild side with our Horseback Camping Adventure. Rough it like a cowboy, live it up like a champ. Enjoy the unspoiled wilderness of Florida on a three-hour trail ride that takes you to a remote campsite. You’ll still have access to running water and modern restroom facilities. What could be better than a campfire-grilled steak dinner? Perhaps the knowledge that your tent will be set up and ready for you when you arrive. Spend time hanging out around the campfire watching the stars and listening to nature. When you wake up in the morning, the Charolais Cafe will have a hearty ranch breakfast ready for you at the campsite before you begin the ride back.

How about adventures without tents?

Forever Florida is all about adventure. We also understand that adventure means different things to different people. You can still partake in our Horseback Riding Adventures, Zip Adventures, and Trail Buggy Adventures without having to sleep in a tent. Forever Florida has two climate-controlled cabins with refrigerators, microwaves, bathrooms, and picnic areas. The Magnolia Cabin features a master bedroom with twin beds, while the Pine Lily Cabin has a queen bed in the master bedroom. Both have sleeping lofts for four children/teens and a fold out couch for two.

Ziplining isn’t my thing, can I still experience the wild of Florida?

You bet! Our Trail Buggy Adventure offers visitors a guided tour of the wild of Florida. Experience the beauty and wonder of native Florida wildlife from our one-of-a-kind Trail Buggy as you traverse their natural habitat.

Forever Florida offers campers a glimpse of Florida’s natural beauty while remaining close to many favorite tourist locations. Take the time to prepare for your camping adventure, so you fully enjoy your time spent in nature.
