Explore the Wild at Camp Illahaw
Where you stay on a real working cattle ranch, ride a real Florida Cracker horse descended from the first horses ever to come to America, and perhaps even try your hand at herding America’s first cattle, just like America’s very first cowboys did here hundreds of years ago!
Where else can you find an eco-adventure park just a short walk from camp?
We have the only zipline rollercoaster in the U.S., a quarter-mile-long racing zip line, a 10-tower zipline tour, and a 7-story leap that will help you find courage you didn’t know you had. Where you can roam 4,700 acres of Florida wilderness with nine different native ecosystems and endless opportunities to observe wildlife and learn about natural Florida.
Former Camper? Become a Leader In Training (Age 17)
At Camp Illahaw, in order to become an LIT, you must have attended camp for at least one summer as a camper. Our Leaders in Training will be placed in a group of about 15 to 20 campers with 2-3 supervising counselors. LIT’s will be a part of our camp staff throughout the summer while also gaining experience with camper management while being mentored by senior staff members in camp. All LIT’s must participate in pre-camp training May 11 & 12th and will continue to be mentored and trained throughout the summer with their immediate supervisors.
